
Emma Unsworth debuted in 2011 with her book Hungry, the Stars and Everything. The novel won a Betty Trask Award from the Society of Authors and was shortlisted for the Portico Prize for Fiction 2012. Her short story ‘I Arrive First’ was included in The Best British Short Stories 2012 (Salt). At Crossing Border 2013, she gave a taster of the opening chapter and read the first pages to the audience. After her debut, Unsworth started working on two novels simultaneously. The first one, Animals, will be published in May this year.
