Chloé Schmitt grew up having the massive book collection of her parents, both teachers, within reach. While writing her debut, she was still studying political science at Sciences Po in Paris. She was only 21 when her novel, Les Affreux, came out in 2012. Her book won the Prix Coup de Coeur des Lycéens.
