Yelena Moskovich was born in 1984 in the Ukraine and emigrated to the US with her family in 1991. After graduating with a degree in playwriting from Emerson College, Boston, she moved to Paris to study at the renowned Lecoq School of Physical Theatre, and she later obtained a Masters degree in Art, Philosophy and Aesthetics at Université Paris 8. Moskovich still lives in Paris.

She has written more than twenty plays in English, Russian and French. Moskovich has received the Claudia Ann Seaman Award for Young Writers, the Blank Theatre Company Young Playwrights Award and the Nicole duFresne Playwright Scholarship. Her work has been produced in the US, Canada, France and Sweden.

The Natashas is her debut novel. In 2017 the French translation will be published by Éditions Viviane Hamy.
