
Lucy Caldwell (1981, Belfast) is a Northern Irish novelist and playwright. She studied at Queens’ College in Cambridge and participated in the Royal Court Young Writers Programme. Her debut novel, Where They Were Missed (2006), was written during her studies and was shortlisted for the Dylan Thomas Award and the Waverton Good Read Award. In 2011, The Meeting Point was published and her last novel All The Beggars Riding (2013) was shortlisted for the Fiction Uncovered award and for the Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year Award 2013. For her plays too, she received already multiple awards, and recently she became the Canada and Europe Regional Winner of the 2014 Commonwealth Short Story Prize with ‘Killing Time’.
