Tristan Garcia (1981) is both writer and philosopher. He was born in Toulouse and spent a part of his youth in Algeria. His first novel La meilleure part des hommes, describing the emergence of AIDS in the 80’s, was awarded the Prix de Flore in 2008. Faber, le destructeur was published in 2013 by Gallimard and is Garcia’s fourth novel. His other publications consist of a collection of short stories and a number of philosophical texts, including the highly-praised Forme et object. Un traité des choses (2011). Garcia’s books have already been translated into English, German, and a few other languages, but this is his first appearance in Dutch.
